Katie Herzig's latest album, "Apple Tree," is a compilation of sweet, creative songs with poetic lyrics, light soprano vocals and lovely,
emotive melodies. What sets it apart is the imaginative production choices that take good songs and make them great: an electric guitar here, a synthesizer there,
even a couple of sticks on a pair of flip-flops as in "Sumatra." Such choices add texture and excitement to the simple songs without overshadowing Herzig's
unwavering, comfortable and appealing voice.
